Hitting is a murky topic right now in the world of baseball. Due to the influx of information and opinions making their rounds on social media, it is easy to get caught up in all of it and not know what to believe or who is “right”.
Some ideologies are complex. Some simple. Some in between.
Too much information can be paralyzing at times.
This can be especially tough because if you, your kid or one of your players is struggling at the plate you want to help and where are you likely to go first?
The internet.
You’ll probably see a hundred videos on YouTube or Tik Tok claiming that this one drill or methodology will get you results at the plate. With no way to sift through it all, you have no idea what will actually help. Drills are great, but nothing you do off the tee or in a cage really prepares you for getting in the box in an actual game.
The truth is most high school hitters go up to the plate with no plan and no approach. They can have a great swing, but without a plan on how to attack a live pitcher, they can quickly get in trouble. Not having an approach is a recipe for inconsistent results, a ton of strikeouts and ultimately a loss of confidence.
As a former player and coach, I can tell you there is one approach/strategy that will guarantee you a chance to be successful if you can commit to it.
There is a simple approach that is tried and true. Once again, only if you commit to it.
